The Spirit of Leadership
by Pastor Brock Green
One thing that we must understand is that as leaders we are direct representatives of our Pastors and the ministry.
- We must pay attention to the practical aspects of our service in the kingdom.
- Even the small details are of great importance: (Song of Solomon 2:15)
- Our physical appearance is important, our demeanor is important and our attitude is important.
God has called Abundant Life Church Intl. to develop leaders, not followers.
- So that by faith, you can pray for yourself and for others and get results.
As a leader, doing the will of God means making the needs of others a priority.
- Pray for others that you might be healed. (James 5:16)
- A level of sacrifice may be required to effectively lead and develop others. (John 15:13)
- Serving others may temporarily inconvenience you, but the rewards far outweigh the discomfort.
A key to experiencing success as a leader is serving with the right attitude.
- Having the right attitude will not only affect your service in the ministry but your personal life as well.
- Having the right attitude starts with having the right self image (you must know who you are in Christ).
- (Psalm 107:2) , (Psalm 139:14) , (Zechariah 2:8), (Proverbs 23:7)
There is unlimited power and potential on the inside of you (2 Corinthians 4:7)
- There is an anointing from God to serve with excellence that produces promotion. (Daniel 6:3)
- Though discouragement may come, depend and rely on the grace of God to help you in your service to the kingdom. (Philippians 2:13)
Your service in the kingdom is by God’s design, He set you in a ministry to serve in the capacity that best suits His agenda, not yours. (1 Corinthians 12:18)
- Resist the temptation to covet another person’s position in ministry. Unjust comparisons produce envy, jealousy and discontent. (2 Corinthians 10:12)
- Being thankful for the purpose and assignment God has given you produces contentment and leads to promotion. (1 Peter 5:6)
There’s no assignment too big or too small, every part is significant, it takes all parts working together to achieve success. (Psalm 133:1-3)
Resist the enemy’s attempts to magnify your shortcomings and past failures, God is bringing you to a place of maturity and He’s helping you in the process. (Psalm 138:8)
It doesn’t matter your present state, if your heart is willing, God can work with you. (2 Corinthians 8:12)
